The third annual Dashing Thru the Snow 5K returns Saturday, Dec. 9.

The race is hosted each year by the Greater Warsaw Chamber of Commerce. Runners are invited to wear their festive flair for the run-walk, which begins at 9 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church at the corner of West Court and Main streets.

Registration is open online at active.com and in person at Jacked 24/7 Fitness. It can also be done the day of the race from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Warsaw Moose Lodge. Race packet pickup is at Jacked the night of Moonlight Magic.

Cost of the race is $25, which increases to $30 the day of the event. Proceeds benefit the Warsaw beautification project fund, which has purchased hanging flower baskets, Hometown Heroes banners, and new Christmas decorations for downtown.

T-shirts will also be given to registrants.

Following the 5K — which is certified and sanctioned through USA Track & Field — prizes will be given to the top male and female, as well as to top finishers in multiple age groups. Race organizers have increased the number of age groups available for prizes. There will also be cookies and hot cocoa at the church.

For more information, see active.com/warsaw-ny/running/distance-running-races/dashing-thru-the-snow-5k-run-walk-2017.

Parking will be available for the race in the municipal parking lot on West Buffalo Street behind Five Star Bank or at the Wyoming County Courthouse, where the race begins and ends.
