Two years have now come and gone for Brenda Kelly at Tackbarry’s Trophies in Warsaw.

This November marks Kelly’s second anniversary since taking over the shop — located at 27 North Main St. — from Kathy Craigmile. Since that time, it has undergone many changes.

Tackbarry’s is not just trophies and awards. The shop features laser and hand engraving, plaques, and personalized gifts. Offering the latter is one of the biggest changes at Tackbarry’s, Kelly said. She noted that there are variety of acrylic, crystal and glass awards, as well as glasses, wine bottles, cutting boards and other items to have engraved.

A new window sign and logo will also be added soon. Kelly said she plans to continue working on fundraisers with local schools and partnering with their sports boosters organizations.

One thing that has remained the same is Kelly keeping Tackbarry’s in the store name.

“I decided to keep the name Tackbarry’s because it had such a good following and so many loyal customers,” Kelly said. “Many people have asked me why I didn’t change the name and I just said it’s been around for so many years, it has to stay the same. Especially because Margaret Tackbarry (the shop’s original owner) passed away this past year, I think it’s even more important that we keep her legacy alive.”

Overall, Kelly said business has been good. Her favorite part of owning and operating Tackbarry's is working with the public. She said that as the holidays approach, she wanted to thank locals for shopping at Tackbarry’s and supporting small business.

For more on Tackbarry’s, see its Facebook page. The shop will be open for Moonlight Magic, and Kelly will be serving chili as part of the event’s contest.
