The Healthy Zone Rink was full of graduates from near and far last week. The function brought in twice the number of visitors compared to last year.

There were smiles all around on Tuesday morning as members of the Rotary Club of East Aurora gathered for their weekly breakfast meeting at the Roycroft Inn.

The numbers were in and it appeared that the Rotary’s Annual Aurora Party (RAAP) at the Healthy Zone Rink last Friday night had been a huge success. By moving the annual Reunion Weekend gathering from Firemen’s Field, where attendance had been sagging in recent years, to the more centrally located rink, the all-classes party attracted 1,500 paying customers, nearly twice the 800 that attended in 2017. Beer sales were up, too, by about 60 percent, and most revelers seemed pleased with their choices. All through the event East Aurorans from as far away as Germany and Alaska and as close by as around the corner got reacquainted and danced to the music of Never Ben.
