The hot smallmouth bass fishing of our local Lake Erie was evident last week. On day 1 of the Costa FLW Series Northern Division tournament presented by Polaris and hosted by the Buffalo Niagara Sports Commission at Buffalo Harbor State Park, every competitor caught fish. Big fish, too.

After the day 1 weigh-in on Thursday, with 169 pro-anglers and 169 co-anglers in the mix, only 4-pounds, 4-ounces separated the top 44 pro angler places. That’s close!
