Long rumored to be a haunted burial ground, the historic Goodleburg Cemetery in the Town of Wales, dating back to the early 19th century, will be given a do-over and spruced up if one local Boy Scout has anything to say and do about it.

Warner Hill Road resident Nathaniel Damon and his father gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation at the Wales Town Board workshop on April 27. They listed several items that Nathaniel, a freshman at Iroquois Central High School, will undertake on a mission to clean up the often-vandalized burial site. His project is being considered part of his candidacy for an Eagle Scout badge and one that he hopes will restore some of the cemetery’s lost grandeur.
