Ian Russ Finishes in Top Half of Runners at National Event

    Members of the East Aurora cross country team traveled with Ian Russ to Oregon for the Nike Nationals last weekend. The team cheered him on and also volunteered during the race.

Ian Russ, the All Western New York Runner of the Year, represented his East Aurora Cross country team and Western New York very well this past weekend at the Nike National Championships held in Portland, Ore.

The Nike sponsored event hosted 199 of the nation's best high school cross country runners who qualified through their regional meets. Russ finished 86th overall with a time of 16:19 on the muddy, challenging Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Oregon.
